Batman had Robin, Sherlock had Watson, peanut butter has jelly and attorneys have paralegals. You can have one without the other, but if you do, you won 't be getting the best. One of the reasons I aspire to be a paralegal is for the fact that they are the "behind-the-scenes" players that are vital to a law office. Paralegals are the backbone of a lot of attorneys. Paralegals think on their feet and know just about everything. I admire them. I was kind of at my wit 's end with the question, "What will I do when I grow up?" That is the question that haunts a lot of people. It has never really bothered me. I have always known it will be something with animals or writing, for those are the things I feel comfortable with. My Grandpa used to tell me, "If you find something you like and are good at, you will never have to work a day in your life." It was with that thought that I began to ponder; I love animals, I value the difference between right and wrong and I enjoy reading. The more I pondered these thoughts, the more prominent the law world appealed to me. I have never been good at math or chemistry and I am ready to start work right away. What could I do?

Aristotle once said, "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." Already, the little bit of law I have learned has touched my heart, as far as my mind, it 's closer to being burnt, but we won 't talk about that today. You can thank me later. In Family law I have especially been touched. Family law is where it gets down on our level, to the places where we live. One move, one word, can affect someone else 's life, or our own. We take on a duty, no matter the case or the person, to help, protect or even comfort our fellow Americans. As a young person, that makes me feel just a little older. I don 't mean gray hair and weathered skin old, I mean more responsible, more empathetic. In this short time of being a paralegal student, I am more aware of the world
