Like everyone, I have weaknesses thats make me fall but, I also have strengths that help me get right back up. Spending nearly third-teen years in education not counting four plus years that will be spent in college, motivation is what will be need to get us threw the failures and help achieve our goals. Threw grade school and high school I thought of myself as a “slow learn”. I new I needed help but never asked for it. Reading “brainology” by Carol Dweck showed me I have a “fixed mindset”.
I wish to volunteer for the Texas Heath Dallas because I would like to gain experience and knowledge about careers in medicine as well as give back to the community. Volunteering in hospitals helps you learn about health care and how the hospital experience is different for social classes. You will see patients at their highest and lowest extremes of emotion and be able to assist them with the rudimentary yet crucial tasks. I would like to gain experience with working with others especially since everyone is unique with their own personalities and experiences. My future goal is to become a cardiologist, however, not just a cardiologist.
I hope to keep involved helping out the community whether it 's through the school or other programs, like Feed My Starving Children. It would be an honor to become a National Honor Society member. I hope that i’ve shown the values that are required to join this
Besides my aspirations to study abroad, I hope to continue developing my passion for volunteering by leading an independent volunteering program for poverty-stricken families in my community at the College of Charleston. I intend to enhance not only myself, but my college and community by being a driven, involved
While good grades and the promise of a successful career are still my priority, I am much more passionate about the journey I am on in order to reach this goal. In his class, he challenged us to think critically, and inspired us to discover a passion
I learned how to adapt to the individual needs of students to provide them the best education. Like students with a communication disorder, many of my students would shy away from activities or tasks because of obstacles. Through these experiences, I watched my students gain the confidence to participate in activities and excel in academics to become successful individuals. As a future Speech Language Pathologist, many qualities that I possess can be improved by furthering my education.
I plan on volunteering for many different organizations, that I am both currently working with, and plan to. For example, I participate in volunteer events for Special Olympic games, The Everett Theater, and St. Joseph’s Parish. By helping
As a child, I had many dreams, but in a country with lots of poverty, dreams die. My world exploded when I realized I had an opportunity to achieve the American dream and be the first in my family to do it. My goal this semester is to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and actually take life lessons from every class I attend. I know I will be faced with many challenges, but I plan to overcome any obstacle with will and determination. This first week made me feel emotional about my future, how far I’ve come, and how much closer I am to the big house on the beach.
I want to prove to myself that I can excel in a competitive environment; like a phoenix, rising from my ashes. I will continue on with my current activities with the addition of volunteering at my local hospital’s emergency department. I also hope to volunteer overseas in the upcoming months. I will never be able to meet my desire to serve humanity by staying in my own court. I want to help at a global
I have overcome difficult challenges in my pursuit of education. I fell behind on my credits, which was the hardest situation to pull myself up from. I caught up and past my colleagues. I am more than ready to further expand my education beyond graduating high school. I am striving to make myself rise above the rest.
The summer before my freshman year at IUPUI I had three goals I told myself I would accomplish. I wanted to hold a leadership position in at least one student organization, create relationships with people that would last far beyond college, and graduate in three years,. I knew who I was; therefore I knew accomplishing these goals would require challenging myself and truly stepping out of my comfort zone. I believe I should be apart of IUPUI Top 100 students because in a few short months I can proudly say all my goals were met. I’ve always been laid back, reserved, but firm and hardworking.
I have been doing volunteer for last few months.
I can vividly remember the advice given to me by my high school counselor. I was broken down, whispering to myself that I was not college bound. It was my counselor who made me realize that persistence was a key factor to continuing my education. The wisdom that was shared to me that day was instilled into my mind and was endorsed in my heart. I want to be the person that gives a glimpse of hope to students that need an extra push through education, just like it was given to me.
In the future I want to be successful not only for myself, but also for my parents and friends to be proud of me. I want to end up being successful with an amazing career, and not end up struggling without the ability
