If you find any mistakes, then you are a better proofreader than eye! The following spelling and grammar error free results are the culmination of twenty-five excessive drafts and compulsive rewrites, begun my Freshman year of high school - enjoy the
This sentence style shows the author’s thinking process at the moment, rather than tells a story. Besides fragmented sentences, sections are also unchronological and seem irrelative to each other, attracting readers to read
Lejla Hodzic Mrs.Monroe English III(H): Period 3 Journal Reflection-MP1 When first writing in my journal I struggled with how deep to go with my discussion questions and what I should be asking my classmates. I feel that I have struggled with this because I lack confidence on what I am trying to prove or say in my writing. When reading in the past I have never pushed myself to question the author’s purpose or ask questions that invoke much thought. Up to this point in the year writing in my journal as well as annotating in the text, has helped my reading and writing immensely.
4.1 “just do it”. I spend majority of my time just thinking about how I am going to get the assignment done. By the time I start the assignment it feels like I been working on it forever, when in reality I just started. When am given an assignment I need to work on it as soon as I find free time. “to eat an elephant, first cut it into same pieces”.
On October 13, I observed the second grade reading and grammar classroom of Mrs. Turner at Elkhorn City Elementary. The students were sitting at tables with their attention directed towards the smart board. They were instructed to begin their D.O.L., or daily oral learning activity, led by the teacher. The smart board was pulled up to where you could see Mrs. Turner writing on her own notebook paper as to visually walk them through heading up their papers and the correct format of sentences. The D.O.L. consisted of five sentences, each with two grammatical mistakes they were to fix.
English 102 Reflection During the course of English 102, I took this year of the spring semester. I have accomplished a variety of goals I once thought were impossible. I have not only grown as a writer and a student but as an individual as well. I feel that through my experience of this English course, I have achieved knowledge and self-confidence to step out into the real world.
There is considerable anecdotal evidence that the assignment process of students to teachers in many schools is far from “random”. Many parents have had the experience of requesting a preferred teacher for their child. In many schools, teachers confer to decide on classroom assignments for the incoming students; in others, the decision is made by the principal (in both cases with input from parents). The process rarely appears on its face to resemble simple random assignment. Moreover, there are numerous reasons why it may be of interest to systematically sort weaker and stronger students to different classes.
I took the time to write out an outline for this essay to help manage the chaos that is my writing, unlike my other essays for the course. As I said before, I have learned to question the structure of my paragraphs. For example: when I was revising the Composing Process essay, I noticed that a set of paragraphs could be rearranged and partially rewritten to improve the structure and make the essay flow better. However, I would argue that my Justification video assignment demonstrates my assertion better than my revised essays. From the beginning, I laid out a clear path that my Justification video needed to follow.
ENG-122 Reflective Essay My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career.
There I am sitting on my couch with a laptop on my lap. I have a paper due tomorrow and I have no idea what to write about. I put my fingers to the keyboard keys and start to type out the first sentence. “Once upon a time,” I said out loud making sure it sounds right. “There was a boy...,” but I stop short of finishing the first sentence.
What does writing mean to me? Writing means getting people engaged in your piece. It means people wanting to keep reading what you wrote. The biggest thing about writing to me is expressing your thoughts and letting your mind go. Using good word choice and having a strong voice in the writing is something that makes it good.
You are doing an assignment in class and realize that everyone else is finishing up their work , but you are still on the third question out of fifteen. You don’t want to be the last one to hold up the class, so you rush the final questions, resulting in a bad grade for that classwork assignment. And with the traditional learning model, your overall grade would be brought down after the assignment is posted on PowerSchool. Mastery-based learning, though, was created for the sole purpose of allowing students to go at their own pace so they could fully grasp the knowledge of a topic. Mastery Based Learning is “a teaching method premised on the idea that student progression through a course should be dependent on proficiency as opposed
Reading and writing was one of my favorite activities to do as a kid, and it still is. Ever since I learned to read, I began to write short stories. Oh, how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself. Hello Mr.Rase, my name’s Elena Serafimovski and I’m a writer in my junior year of high school.
The method of research, citing facts, and brainstorming ideas was very intense in this class. Reading various arguments debating the topic I want to write on, was very challenging and time consuming. In this reflection essay I want to show how researching process was vital on changing my writing style. Also, what I’ve learned in English 105 class after a great summer semester with lots of material to learn from. Researching was drastically important, making every paper I made heavily based on research.
