Reflective Essay On Writing Skills

Throughout my few weeks of taking this english course I have had time to reflect on my writing skills and I believe that I definitely have room for improvement. While my writing is not terrible it isn’t where I would like for it to be, and as of now I would prefer to be at the level of a college student. It is going to take a lot of hard work to get to where I want to be at, but with everything that I have learned throughout this course I think it may not be as tough as I thought.

As a writer I believe that trying to go above and beyond what is asked, creating really strong proposal are my strength, but trying to go above and beyond, and not being able to execute it properly is my biggest mistake. Whenever I write I often think ahead of what I want to write and the apply it to my paper, but sometimes in the writing process I just blank out, and can’t think of the right words to say and which ones not to say and ultimately it leads to an internal conflict on whether or not I should leave it …show more content…

My phone is my achilles heel, and when I’m writing the damage done by it increased tenfold as often just looking at my notifications will cause me to go adrift in my social media apps, or even mobile apps, and as a result my writing becomes sloppy. My distractions aren’t limited to my phone either simply listening to music will cause to lose my train of thought as I will typically begin to sing along with the music. I do however have some good habits as the previously mentioned planning of what I want to say in my writing as while at times it does harm me most of the time it really helps me build the foundations for my paper and execute it to my heart 's desire. I have many bad bad habits, and I plan to drive my those habits away to make way for good writing habits in the future that will help me become a better
