Throughout this paper I am going to reflect on my reading, writing, and communication through my college experience.

Most of the times when I hand in a writing assignment, I am always told I have a lot of different things to work on like grammar, spelling, or the structure of my writing. The lack of confidence is probably all in my head, however when I am told to fix those certain errors, my teacher tends to look at me a certain way and the look comes off as a degrading feeling. Hence, if you take your paper to your teacher, and you continue to get that degrading look, it can break a student’s confidence down.
Delaware State University’s professors have assigned different writing assignments to get our perspectives on how us students view any content area. They use different writing pieces to judge where our thought process is at and how we analyze different topics. When I was attending my freshman at Neumann, I felt so confident I walked into my English classroom on the first day, that was before I met my professor. My professor intimidated me as soon as she walked through the door. She was very direct and nonchalant. Many of the times, I never wanted to ask her questions nor ask for help on assignments. But, one day she pulled me aside after class, and asked me “what is the matter with you?” That statement was so blunt and to the point, however it was so effective to get me to wake up and start opening my mouth and asking for help. She told me that she was here to help me become a stronger and confident writer. There was one assignment that we had to complete, it was one significant person or event that had stuck with us to this day.
