These requirements start with being licensed to practice and passing the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam. After coming into the field, you are expected to work about 40 hours per week on average. Nonetheless, every specialized setting has their own amount of set hours to work. Some other skills one may need are information gathering skills to be able to gather information through visual, auditory and tactile senses. It is necessary to be patient,nurturing, and empathic to all patients because they are all at different levels and they all struggle with many different things. It is important to show care for what they have going on. Another huge thing is communication skills. This job deals with both verbal and nonverbal individuals.
