Interests in math and science. Mr Hyde had developed a potion that allowed him to turn into Dr. Jekyll. Jekyll found a way to separate his good side from his darker side, by transforming himself into a monster free of consciences. But he later found that he was turning into more and more into Mr Hyde. He started turning into Mr. Hyde in random places, the transformations got worse and worse.
Taking risks is the main reason that they have achieved their accomplishments and freedoms. The contents of each novel are similar due to characters personalities as well as their societies, despite the different steps they take to achieve their goals. Every character in any book always has different profound attributes. Some of these attributes may be more dominant than others.
Mr. Hyde is described at the shorter one and that he has some type of deformity that no one can explain. Robert Louis Stephenson’s, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Shakespeare’s, Romeo and Juliet, both discuss the concept of duality as a human condition in different ways. In Stephenson’s novel, instead of masquerading through life, and suppressing himself, Jekyll chose to channel his inner rage through Mr. Hyde. Romeo and Juliet’s desperate attempt to find love and solace in each other’s arms despite what was expected of them from their families, exhibited a deviation in behavior that ultimately cost them their lives. Throughout Stephenson’s novel, the duality of human nature is portrayed through Dr. Jekyll’s creation of Mr. Hyde, which is ultimately made up of Jekyll’s evil characteristics. Class is a reoccurring theme in both novels, as is judgment. Prejudice occurs frequently in both novels. This is where characters in both novels give a judgment that is based on their personal opinion without knowing the facts. Prejudice is represented by the protagonist in both novels.
Hyde seems to appear much younger than Jekyll also. Jekyll in this novella uses Hyde to get away with all the horrific things he wants to do such as murder. Jekyll are the same but at the same time they are not. Jekyll creates Hyde because he does not want to live without consequences, and he wants to hide his evil intentions.
Dr. Jekyll is seemingly good, kind, and benevolent; while is not purely good he is a moral gentleman. He started his experiment so he could totally separate the bad and the good in himself into two separate beings. He did not succeed, however, for Dr. Jekyll is plagued by the feeling that he wants to become evil again, thus he wants to become Mr. Hyde. It is important to note that Mr. Hyde is completely evil; he has no goodness in him, in contrast to Dr. Jekyll who was a troubled mix. Mr. Hyde feels no remorse for any evil he has done and actually feels elated when he does commit a moral sin.
However, they do share similar tastes in furnishings and artwork. Physically the two men differ greatly. Mr. Hyde is described a number of times as deformed, pale, and wicked looking. He is also described as small in statute and dwarfish. In contrast, Dr. Jekyll is describes as large and well made.
In the novel, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson explores the complexity of human nature. He uses characters and events in the novel to present his stance on the major theme: “man is not truly one, but truly two” (125). Branching from this major theme are many more specific views on the idea that human nature is divided into good and evil. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are two very different people who occupy the same body. Human beings struggle with good and evil and Stevenson goes to the extreme to to show this relationship.
Mr. Hyde was shunned and outcast by Mr. Utterson and probably many other people in their society. Mr. Hyde was considered bad because he was a brute who was accused of evil actions on a few separate occasions. If he was in our modern society we would charge him for his inhuman deeds. This would eventually lead to him being a convicted felon and serve time in our prison system. We know the act of killing someone is considered immoral and unjust but why?
Mr. Hyde looks like a bad person. “He is not easy to describe. There is something wrong with his appearance; something displeasing, something down-right detestable. I never saw a man I so disliked, and yet I scarce know why. He must be deformed somewhere; he gives a strong feeling of deformity, although I could not specify.”

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are two completely different people. They are different, not just in physical appearance, but also in behaviors. Differences in characters are important especially if there are two main characters or two characters that are mentioned as much as these two are. So, this is not a surprise that these two characters are different in almost everyway. To start, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are different in physical appearance.
