The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria are known in today’s world as a rational group of terrorists. They are often referred to as ISIS or ISIL. They are responsible for many attacks not only in the Middle East, but some attacks on our own soil as well. A big attack happening only a year ago on France is an example of their brutality. ISIS will do whatever it takes to become this “super power” they are aiming for, even if that means attacking big countries to make their mark on today’s world. In order to become more of a threat to others, they need a lot of members to join them and be able to risk their lives for their cause. For ISIS, they think reaching out to people via the internet is possibly their best way of getting in touch with possibly members. …show more content…

They try and put fear into the lives of people all over the world by almost broadcasting what they are doing to people everywhere. They use these social media sites as a way to get their message across to people who live in other places, and try and get them to join ISIS. Big countries like the United States are trying to find ways to block them off of social media cites. Even our current president Donald Trump said “We’re losing a lot of people because of the internet. We have to go see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what is happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas closing the internet up in some way (David Goldman).” ISIS uses the social media Americans use every day not only as a way to attack us and put fear into our lives, but also as a way to help their cause and gain
