Introduction
Media convergence happens when computing, communication and content is being integrated resulting in digitization of media contents in the internet.(Flew, 2014). The advancement of technology had changed the way media is being brought to audiences. Participation happens through three distinctive levels from production to selection followed up by distribution.(Jenkins, 2006, p.275). In today's world, new media has not only fulfilled the task of delivering the message to audience but also allows audiences to sound out their thoughts and feelings. Convergence of different technologies and the way people communicate have been enabled with the availability of digital media. Convergence happens from the level of production to distribution.(Yee, J. 2007).

Consumers in the media industries are demanding to be producers, but media producers are upholding their power over media content in the industry.(Thorburn, barrett & Jenkins, 2003, p 286). With the availability of file uploading platforms on the internet. Fans of a particular movie or reality show can create subtitles of the media content and upload it online for more people to see.
