An IT professional we should always observe professional ethical and technical standards. IT professional should also discharge his/her duties with diligence and competence. We should never offer any service or do any work which is outside of our professional competence domain. The professional should perform his/her duties to the best of his/her abilities while considering the interests of whom the services are performed (The chartered institute for IT, 2014). An IT professional must strive to be more competent by investing in education and experience. It also means an IT professional must balance between personal interests and organizational interests. An example in my future profession is that I would make sure that I do not use the organizations property such a computers or databases Records for my own personal gain, I would also refrain from using work hours for chatting on social media or other personal activities (Kerber, 2013).
This means that an IT professional should respect confidential information privacy; an IT professional should not disclose it or use it for third party benefits. In my future profession as an IT professional I might be able to view a company’s confidential information such as the company’s production strategies, I should not disclose it or use it gain money by passing it on to the company competitors (The chartered institute for IT, 2014).
The other role for an IT professional is they should be ready for any consequences for any of his/her work or any work of a group in which he/she is the group leader. In my future profession, in case of being a leader of a team that is not able to accomplish a task successfully before the deadline would accept responsibility rather than result to blame games and not to deliver the final system which can put the future of the company I worked for or the company whom the system may be
