Being a child would mean undergoing different sorts of experiences and these can include conflicts in the process. Generally, every child is unique, even if they may have the same wants and needs. Not all the time would these wants be the same for a group of children, and when only one thing is available to be utilized, such as a toy or a book, then conflict can generally arise from the situation. Children will have different ways of responding to a situation of conflict, but the most common would be aggressive towards others like oral arguments and sometimes, physical violence. Some other responses will include avoiding the person altogether or just ignoring.

Most people will associate conflict with either winning or losing, so there seems a problem of having this kind of domineering behavior with others or just avoiding the whole conflict since they know they won’t be able to win. This kind of approach is a win-lose approach and can actually create more problems than solve conflict. This approach can actually give a conflict a short-term resolution though can have underlying problems. The approach itself can make a child understand that it’s okay to be dominant over others and may eventually form a pattern of bullying to just get what they want from others.
