In the age of technology it is said to say that 33% of youth have been victimised by cyber bulling.
This to me is a worrying statistic. Therefore it is vital we explain the risks and possible of consequences of been online and using a mobile phone to children and young adults.
There are so many things that could be potentially unsafe for children and young adults on the internet;
Cyber bullying - as the statistic about suggests, children and young people are open to cyber bullying. This is especially wording of the child or young adult does not tell anyone. There has been so many reports in the news about the suicide of young adults due to cyber bullying.

Recently it has been highlighted in the news that people are using photos they have got people to take to use to bribe them which has resulted in young adults taking there own life. Children and young adults need to be aware that when a photo is on the internet that it is out there and can be seen by anyone. It is important that they have privacy setting on such as Facebook so not everyone can view them.
It's so important that we educate children and young adults on the risks and possible consequences. There are so many worried related to mobile phones and the internet. The school that my daughter attends holds regular sessions for parents to attend on online and mobile safety. It is key to educate parents/guardians so they can use them tools to help their child/young adult. Again using age appropriate materials in education our children/young adults is vital.
