Books by famous authors Dr.Seuss along with Roald Dahl are being looked at differently due to racial and offensive drawings and wording in their famous children's fantasy stories. Schools around the world are taking them out of the children's library due to what people discovered after looking deep into their work. Famous children's story “If I Ran The Zoo” is no longer being printed anymore because it was found offensive many years after the book was published. In many stories by Roald Dahl they are rewriting the stories because of the offensive language that is being used “fat” and “ugly” along with descriptions of black and white found offensive to many people. It was disrespectful, and racist to Japanese people. The way it was worded and how their faces were colored yellow in the children's book.in the book “ If I ran the Zoo” the study points out another example of Orientalism and White supremacy. Again another Racial comment and showing “ White supremacy”.Study also shows that majority of human characters in Dr. Seuss’ books are white. Schools that have sexually appropriate books are starting to get banned due to the sexual content.The book is about a 17 year old that is sexually active and proud’ “The story opens up with girls in the bathroom talking graphically about his sex life”. Again sexual context and it was being overused and the main topic was sex.“The sexual content of the book is immediate and is majority about his sex life”.that the book had way too much and it was way too mature and had lot’s of sexual context. I feel as if the books with mature language and racism are eye opening for kids and the books are a great example to show the kids. All kids have to take a health class and they learn about sex so what’s the difference?Kids have to grow up and mature at some point of time and if they see stuff like that in their local school library maybe they would seek awareness.This is not reasonable because what about the kids that are black, asian, chinese etc.. It may show awareness to the kids that white but to kids like them it seems wrong and unfair that racism is being displayed in their school and it could be discouraging.The books about the sexual content it’s not explaining how sex is and the dangers of it it’s simply explaining a child's sex life and how he’s done it with many girls.
