If you were a colonist from the mid-1170s, would you rather be a patriot or a loyalist? I would rather to be a patriot. Reason being is that they fight to get more liberty because they would rather die freely than living a slave. They have always taken orders from Great Britain, it’s time for a change. In addition, King George III is a very unfit ruler. He is so unqualified that he ignores patriots’ petitions and send them only to repeated jury. As you can see, being a patriot is the right side to be on. To begin with, I would like to be a patriot because they believe in liberty. Most, (including myself) would like to die freely opposing to dying a slave. He doesn’t deserve to be king when the petitions sent to him (made by the colonists) are sent to numerous juries. In the Declaration of Independence it states “In every stage of these Oppressions, We have petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated jury.” To clarify, colonists wanted to take back their rights, but their petitions are only sent to the jury. I do not think that King George III deserves the throne he owns. Although this is true, colonists aren’t always the good guys and the saints. Sometimes, colonists tar the loyalists / stamp commissioners when it isn’t even their fault. Tar can lead to painful blistering and removing it is more difficult. If that wasn’t bad enough, you should know that they also stick feathers of them for more humiliation. This led to no more commissioners left in the colonies to collect the taxes.
