Ify Character Analysis

From a very young age, the most frequent reason for disagreements with Ify was us attempting to help her resolve a challenge either with her toys or with some assignment from school. Her protest was always” I can do it myself”. She has carried on with this independence and it shows in all aspects of her life from academics to extracurricular activity.

Ify is an absolute self-starter. She knew how to reproduce musical sounds she heard on TV even before taking her first piano lesson at about five years old. Her Piano teacher then was amazed at how quickly she grasped new things and her rate of development. The same strength, determination and enthusiasm propelled her to learn to play five other musical instruments on her own. She craves knowledge and wants to know about the world around her. During a recent discussion over dinner, her understanding of the Osama Bin Laden story humbled me. She has consistently performed at the top ten percentile in her year group.

Ify is very focused and a stickler for following rules. She obeys rules whether someone is watching or not. Ify is dependable and has a distinct personality. She is not one to go with the crowd. She has a positive influence on those around her either by way of encouraging them, tutoring her peers or just being a leaning shoulder. She received the award of “Good Citizen” in Prep school for being influential, helpful and a role model for the younger children. At her current school, she is often selected to chaperone when other schools visit for any activity.

Ify thrives in the face of challenge. She is not one to rest on her laurels but always pushes herself to do more. In an environment with rigorous academic curriculum, motivated students and engaging faculty, we have no doubt that Ify will be challenged to expand her vision and performance in all aspects of school
