As U.S citizens we are all born under the protection of our constitutional rights, but unfortunately there are those who were born with the infectious disease; HIV and AIDS. It excludes them from ever experiencing these rights because their parents were unaware or silent of the deadly disease, the innocent child has no stance or say if he or she wants HIV and AIDS for the rest of their life. Others are condemned by this disease when they are blinded by human needs. As well as those whose addictions that part take in the involvement of sharing needles taking over their ability to rationalize the situation they are in. Ignorance is not a choice when it comes to another person’s life there are many who are misinformed about HIV and AIDS and not only does this make things more complicated to decrease the percentages of this worldwide epidemic, but those who refuse to get tested just because they are afraid or ashamed of the outcome are only making things worse for themselves and others because the disease will soon turn into the AID virus. “But ignorance cannot be used to rationalize irresponsibility. Nowhere in their argument is there a concern about how such ignorance might endanger public health by exposing others to the virus.” (Gaylin 70). Gaylin states, “It may seem unfair to burden the tragic victims with concern for the welfare of others.” (Gaylin 71). Although the victims may be uncomfortable with being identified for the disease they have contracted they are saving if not hundreds, but millions of lives because everyone deserves the right to know. Many may think it is an invasion of their privacy, but I’m more than 100% sure they would want to know because their life and the life of their future children will thank them
