Jennette McCurdys struggles
In the book Im gald my mom died by jennette mccurdy The actor Jennette McCurdy had to deal with alot of struggles while acting from when she was a kid to when she becomes an adult. Jennette McCurdy lived with a narcissistic mother who forced her into child acting which lead to het developing problems that she would have to overcome later in life. She developed eating disorders, alcohol addicion and had to deal with narssasistic mother who forced her into a carrer that she felt very uncomfortable doing. Jennette was only a kid when her mom pushed her to do acting even though Jennette did not feel comfortable acting. “ “So what do you say? You want to act? You want to be Mommy’s little actress?” There’s only one right answer.” (McCurdy 11). Jennette felt like she had to say yes to acting because she felt like her job was to make her mother happy so she went along with it. She did not relize what her mother was doing was manipulative until years later when she went to therapy. Her grandfather says this when he finds out that she has to work because she is making the most money. Jennette never got to be a kid once she started her acting carrer because she had to provide for her family due to her living in a low income family. Jennette never wanted to start acting until her mom forced her into the carrer that she could not quit because she felt like she had to be the peace keeper of the family and had to help keep the family financially
