This diary entry is by a man who is imprisoned by Dracula. Obviously, fear plays an important role in this mans feelings, as it would in anyone who is imprisoned by a vampire. He also writes about his sense of helplessness and how he feels that he is stuck. There is no one in the house who would be able to help him and he has no way to help himself. The author wrote this story to entertain it’s readers by providing us with a fictitious story and experience. The idea of helplessness and imprisonment is intensified with the authors use of imagery.
