Those that came to the United States had difficulties providing for their families and were often living in poor conditions.
We need the immigrants to improve our country. Experiences of an immigrant were different back then but there are also similarities between the time periods. The number of immigrants have been similar between the years. Immigrants can be said to be a person who comes to live in foreign country permanently. These immigrants have many different motivations; some enter the U.S hoping to get a chance of a better life; others are refugees, escaping civil wars or persecution in their country. Many of these immigrants believe the United States is the best place to go. There are more freedom, opportunities, protection and benefits which are important issues for immigrants.
They could learn from them about the new area and culture. They could receive their help in finding jobs and schools to attend. They could still celebrate their special customs and holidays, cook their type of food, and speak their own language all while living in a different nation. In addition, Immigrants could still worship their own religion. They could have separate churches, houses of worship, for each of their religions.
They als feel a sense of belongingness. New immigrants also get to know their new communities very quickly. Examples today are some government programs such as Medicaid. these are government programs that help struggling Americans to be able to feed their families and have access to health care. Other private groups are the habitat for humanity which provides accommodation for the homeless, red cross society which comes to the aid of disaster victims.
Oppression or opportunity? Immigrants faced many things while inside America. Low paying jobs, Illnesses, and small living spaces. Immigrants came to America expecting greatness, the “ Golden Country’ as some would call it. When the Immigrants came here, what they hoped was nothing like it seemed.
Alongside the route, there were various things or experiences that the migrants experienced. Basically, there were numerous accidents that they encountered for instance death as a result of being run over by wagons. Another one was accidents due to gunshots from half-cocked pistols in their wagons or from various individuals who at times used to fool around with guns.
