Many immigrants pour into the United States each year, and among them, there are hard-working and intelligent individuals looking for a better life and opportunities. Aside from many hard-working, and kind-hearted immigrants, many criminals come in and interfere with the lives of many citizens--they commit unforgivable acts such as murder, rape, and abuse. With this being said, necessary precautions are taken into action.
Throughout history, we have had presidents in favor of immigration promoting open borders while other presidents enforce tougher immigration laws. From former president Barack Obama to today’s president, Donald J. Trump, there have been many laws and executive orders put into place to either limit immigration or to open more doors & opportunities to these immigrants. The future of immigrants rests in the palm of the president’s hand and surely the lives of many immigrants will be changed.

Throughout those eight years, he was able to deliver a legislation affecting more than 740,000 immigrants who came here to the United States as children. This policy is known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA. DACA recipients are eligible to pursue an education, attend college, and obtain a job. This isn’t a right, but rather a privilege. To continue receiving such great opportunities, DACA members must stay below the law. These immigrants are seen as American children because they have been residing in the United States from a very young age. These recipients have spent their lives among Americans, they pay taxes, and they follow the laws. Yet, it’s a shame and a great disappointment that these immigrants, who have come out of the shadows, have to live a life with the constant threat of being deported. This group of immigrants are the most productive and the least dangerous of all
