The United States is classified as the land of opportunity to many people living in other countries. Every year hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants come to America in search of a better future for themselves and their families. There are 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States of America. According to pewresearch.org, 5.1% of America’s work force are unauthorized immigrants. The government spend billions of dollars each year in an effort to rid America of illegal aliens, instead of giving these immigrants the opportunity to gain legal status, which would not only save but generate billions of dollars from these immigrants who would become legal tax payers.
The topic of granting illegal immigrants legal status in the United States has been plaguing the American society for decades. After his reelection President George Bush supported the approach that would put undocumented immigrates on the path to citizenship, but in December of 2005 the house of representatives pass a bill which increased border security and penalties against illegal immigrant (cite) as a result thousands of immigrant both legal and illegal all over America got together and had a day without immigrates which had a major impact on Americas workforce. The protest led to widespread discussions on the role that immigrants, including the one here illegally, played on the economy (cite). Randel Johnson, vice president of the united states of chamber of congress, told NY times. “If immigrates decided to abandon their jobs for two weeks, that would definitely have an
