Technology’s Impact on the Voyage of Christopher Columbus Technological advances have greatly changed our world since the voyages of Christopher Columbus. If Christopher Columbus had just some of the technology we have today in 2016, how might this have changed his planning and carrying out of his voyages: What technological advances would have been most beneficial to Christopher Columbus? Technology has change over the years starting in the Paleolithic Era. What does Paleolithic mean, paleo means old, ancient, early, prehistoric, and primitive, and lithic rmeans relating to stone. A trip that took about two months would've taken about two weeks max. As we learned about Christopher and the world back then, everybody thought the horizon was the end of the world and they would fall if they go there, but they find out that was all wrong. Another piece of technology that would've helped Christopher is a GPS. Don't you think that if he would have had a GPS it would of made it easier to not get lost in the ocean. Another big piece of technology that would of help would had been a satellite. One the satellite would of taken pictures from space and they wouldn't had to travel from Spain all the way to America. Remember like I said about the satellite he could of made the map a lot faster than drawing a map that would have disadvantages in the future. Christopher Columbus would of had a faster exploration knowing that in some parts there was a danger and avoiding them and also taking different routes. Another piece of technology that could've helped the Spanish would be newer weapons. This includes military graded weapons for example: M16, AK47, Heavy Snipers, etc. This weapons could had safe the life of a person from attacking tribes, animals, and enemies. In fact weapons could have helped them hunt for food and necessary materials like skin clothe from animals to cover them self during the winter. Another big thing that could had save the life of many others back then could've been medicine. Medicine could save the life of a person from a big cut, maybe an attack, an allergic reaction and etc. Medicine could help with pains that killed people the night to morning. Another piece of technology would be a car. Cars could have been the most helpful to tool in the exploration because of the movement need for them. In my opinion having an RV would been to move around since you didn't need to pick up the camp and do it again and again. The RV is a mobile home that comes with anything a house has today days in the 21st
