The Anthropocene or the age of humans is an epoch of the significant damage of our planet Earth’s through the daily activities. Paul Crutzen (2002) added that in recent years, the term “Anthropocene” suits appropriately to the geological epoch that brings back the Holocene period where was used to be a warming of the past 10-12 millennia since humans have been the main influence for the world’s richness. In terms of biogeography, the age of humans supports the adequate identification on evolution. Young (2014) stated that with the new epoch, Anthropocene can manage the studies related to the human impacts on the earth specifically extinction rate of species, ecological prediction in the future and the change of ecosystem. Helmus, Mahier & Losos (2014) added that the Anthropocene presents the economic factor that will mainly dominate the island biogeography from now on. …show more content…

Firstly, it is the humans itself, Homo sapiens who has started the impacts since the 1940s. The population has doubled consuming resources at the ever-increasing rate as we have grown, we impacted the world forests which are about half as many trees now as there were at the dawn of human civilisation. The alteration of the land has higher than 50% by clearing fields, building cities, damming rivers and even mining in search of coal. From that, biogeographers can use Anthropocene as a tool for the future predictions from the changes of Earth’s history that humans
