In the play, Romeo and Juliet are only young teenagers which influences on making childish and no-thought decisions. This is shown In Act 2 where Romeo is depressed because Rosaline, who he had confessed his love to has rejected him, and refuses to crash the Capulet’s party. It’s not until his friends Mercutio and Benvolio force him to go when he lays his eyes upon Juliet and proceeds to forget about his love and fall in love with Juliet instead.
In Romeo and Juliet the need for secrecy was due to the fact that their love was never supposed to happen, it was forbidden. Romeo and Juliet’s love was forbidden because their family differences.(1.5.136-139) Their secret was their relationship and the fact that they had gotten married, but, only four people knew two of those which included Romeo and Juliet, and the other two being the Nurse and Friar Lawrence. Both Juliet’s and Romeo’s parents would not have approved of them being together because of their feud but this didn 't stop Romeo and Juliet from going against the rules of their parents’ beliefs. (2.2.64-79) The effect the keeping of the secret in the story is that it resulted in many deaths, including those such as Mercutio, Tybalt, Paris, and Lady Montague.
Romeo and Juliet represents two families of similar social economic status and wealth but are in an interpersonal conflict between a flourishing love and a gory family feud. Juliet immensely changes during the course of the movie from a young girl to a mature young lady because she must deal with a forced marriage, abusive parents, and the banishment of Romeo. However, Romeo is a flat character focusing more on love than understanding the seriousness of the feud.
