I officially got my drivers license on August 9, 2017. Unfortunately, I was in a minor accident on December--- . I passed both written and maneuverability on my first attempt. I was so excited to be driving a car. The most important thing that I learned from this accident was the importance of defensive driving. All drivers on the road need to know the importance of defensive driving. It is crucial to be a defensive driver because it makes you more aware of the road and your surroundings. Being a defensive driver is beneficial in many ways, and the bottom line is that it can help drivers to avoid being in a car accident. Streets can be crowded, and there are many distractions. Such as street lights, traffic lights, stop signs, crosswalks,yield signs, construction signs, moving cars, and parked cars on the roads are just a few distractions. There are also pedestrians walking, biking, or crossing the roads that the driver must be aware of. Taxi cabs are also a distraction defensive drivers need to be aware of. Taxi cabs in the city usually draw attention to many pedestrians. Pedestrians will do all sorts of crazy things to get a hold of a taxi. In an effort to respond to someone hailing a cab, taxi drivers often make sudden swerves to the edges of roadways. Defensive drivers need to be aware of taxi cabs and other cars around them when driving in the city. Driving through the country on a two lane road can be relaxing, but defensive driving is still required. These roads are usually two lanes and narrow. The roads have no median or pull-over lane. Back-country can be unfamiliar, the land can be unpredictable, so it is important for a driver to pay more attention..
