Dinner date with the Mendez ‘Vega Family. A night with my family of 11 people sitting around the dinner table just enjoying each other’s company. As a family we ate dinner together 6 out of 7 days a week around the dinner table together. A normal meal at my house would consist of Puerto Rican rice (Arroz con Gandules) with some kind of meat.
I help my parents make anything from ham and turkey to mashed potatoes and
Introduction In America, many individuals like to eat. Devouring decadent dishes like steak and potatoes, shrimp pasta, chocolate cheesecake, and other delicacies are what most humans enjoy to partake when eating. Thanksgiving, a holiday that Americans just recently celebrated, is a very popular time where people enjoy delving into plates of turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and huge assortments of pies. Concluding from this, no person would ever think about feasting on another individual that they love and care about.
Growing up in a big family, traditions were what kept our family together. As a child, every first weekend in December was spent at my grandma’s house. It was our traditional craft/tree decorating weekend. All 15 of us grandkids would arrive at grandma’s house filled with excitement and joy. It was at time that we all got to spend catching up with each other and playing.
Why is thanksgiving so important to me? Well, I personally think that Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday. The reason Thanksgiving is so important to me is because, I love when family comes over to our house and can sit down, and catch up with one another. My biggest reason Thanksgiving is so important to me is because my family coms over.
Food was delivered to us and we went over to Philadelphia to hand them out. Pete’s Pantry allowed me to see and connect with so many people in need, and give them enough food for the week. In the end, we could stay and talk to the homeless and hear about their lives and how thankful they were for what we were doing. That really changed my perspective and made me more thankful for what I have and passionate about helping. I love the feeling of helping others and the look on their faces when they can worry a little less that day because they don’t have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
Giving is the most important part of Thanksgiving. Another important part of Thanksgiving dinner is to be able to sit down, relax and enjoy your meal with the company of your loved ones. By taking steps in advance you can assure a successful Thanksgiving dinner, minimizing being overwhelmed. Start with your guest list and planning your dinner menu. While searching for recipes, look for simple and easy.
The pecan pie had to be just about the best one I ever had. It tasted just like freshly cooked, warm pecans, in a pie crust, with frosting on them. Thanksgiving dinner lasted us for the rest of our trip in South Carolina. When we arrived home, I immediately knew that I would never forget this trip. If given the option of doing this again next year, as opposed to having Thanksgiving at home as usual, I would immediately say

Japan’s history is categorized by historical time periods dating back to 12,000BC to modern day. The names of the time period reflect societal achievements, the name of the leader, or where the capital was located at that time. In the time periods before the Meiji period, there are multiple examples of men and women being viewed as equals. Women were both equal politically and socially in the Yayoi period, women were poets and writers in the Heian period, and throughout history there have been 8 female empresses. Moving forward, there is a transition of western influence coming into Japan that creates different opportunities for Japanese women.
As Thanksgiving Day approaches, several people have begun reflecting on their blessings. I am profoundly thankful for everything in my life, nevertheless there is one thing that stands out from the others. I met my best friend almost four years ago. He has brought loads of laughter and happiness into my life since the day we met. He and I create new memories together everyday.
and I love ours. My family’s tradition it is that we have to have delicious, warm, cinnamon covered sweet potato yams with our meal and that is not only the best smell in the world, but also the best taste, especially when I add mini marsh mellows on top and they melt over them for a nice creamy layer on top. Later in the day there are more aromas of the food in the air like cornbread and biscuits baking in the oven. Then we all sit down and enjoy are nice meal altogether as a family. I could not imagine this time of year without my family.
This holiday brings family members together, in my case I usually get to see my mom each year. The thing we must not forget is that Christmas is not about receiving, nor about giving in return, it’s about doing a little extra something for someone without an exchange, it’s about coming together as a family. Every year on December 25, I wake up and feel Special, for having a family that loves and cares for me, for waking up in the morning and seeing myriad presents under the Christmas tree, for getting to spend another Christmas day sharing with friends and family and getting to say Merry
To All HR Employees: Thanksgiving is a time for joy and good cheer and during this month of gratitude, I have been reflecting on the things I am most grateful for. Primary among them is our talented group of employees. Without your commitment, creativity, and high standards, we would not be where we are today and I am very appreciative for your efforts. Thank you for the work you do to make HR great. I wish you a Thanksgiving filled with abundance and bright moments.
Thanksgiving is the day where you should stop and think about all the little things in life. Not many people have or know the meaning of family. I make sure the time I do get to spend with my family, I don’t take it for granted. Most of my family live in Louisiana, so getting to see all of my family on that one day is a genuine blessing. My best family reunion would be on thanksgiving, because it’s the best time to spend time with my family, eat great food, and watch the macy’s parade.
