I don’t think I’ve ever cried harder in my entire life. I sobbed until I had no more tears left to cry. I could handle loss. I could keep handling losses, one right after the other. Like I said, us women, we can endure a lot.
I believe sharing your distresses with the ones you love and trust will create a lasting bond, and will ease the pain of your loss. Even in the face of inevitability, you can gain strength through the support and encouragement of others; instead of feeling guilty and regretting your decisions, you can leave these arduous experiences as a stronger, more empathetic and resilient person. In a sense, as you create new bonds and strengthen them through every experience you share, your own character also becomes more tenacious and prepared for difficult trials
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving holiday! At the last weekly meeting it was discussed that a Facilities Meeting was still planned for this week, because the meeting was going to be canceled for last week. There are a couple of topics we would like to go over this week. Does it still work for everyone to have the Facilities Meeting this Thursday at 11:00 ET?

Why is thanksgiving so important to me? Well, I personally think that Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday. The reason Thanksgiving is so important to me is because, I love when family comes over to our house and can sit down, and catch up with one another. My biggest reason Thanksgiving is so important to me is because my family coms over.
This quote is said a lot during the holiday that we are in now, Thanksgiving. It is telling us that no matter how hard things really seem to be, there is always something that we can be thankful for. For example, if someone is having a rough time everyday of their life struggling to stay alive and healthy, they do have something to be thankful for. The people everyone sees on the streets asking for money have something to be thankful for. They should be thankful for having the chance to be alive at that moment.
Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is the most stimulating holiday. There is an extreme amount of food to see, smell and taste, along with emotions associated with seeing family. The whole feeling of Thanksgiving is warmer and different than most holidays. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and siblings stand in a circle around a table laden with food. Their hands are linked.
I’ve gone through hardships and trying to keep my own family together. Someone very dear to my family has passed on and it was one of the most horrible things i’ve experienced as a young child myself. I was 12 too when i’ve experience loss, at the time I couldn’t cope I was in denial and agony. But eventually I had to learn to grow up and accept what has happened and help my family in the process.
One of the special meals my Family has had last year was tamales on Thanksgiving, the reason why we had tamales is because my dad buys them from a lady from my neighborhood and that year he decided to share them to us and my whole family and everyone was there to enjoy the food we brought and we had music family and all the food was gone which is a good thing because everyone enjoyed it
204 million pounds of turkey was wasted over Thanksgiving. Currently the United States is battling a major food waste crisis and between the holidays Thanksgiving and New Years, approximately 40 days, Americans creates 5 million tons of household waste. With wasting food, turkey especially, it's not just the nutrients that are thrown out; time, money, labor and a whole lot of gallons of water go into raising turkeys and to get them ready to be eaten. America is the leading contributor to the global food waste crisis due to the fact that most of America is lucky enough to have access to regular trash collection. Our country's oblivion to the waste problem impacts our society because wasting food is damaging to the environment.
Two or three years ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. When she told me my first reaction was to cry and pray for my mom. It is a hurting feeling when you think you are going to lose the ones you love in any type of way. No matter if it’s thru a relationship or death. No one wants to lose
Martha looked at the myth of Thanksgiving. The idea that an entire family would happily get together for a huge meal. The family will think and talk about everything that they are thankful for. This is heavily discussed in elementary schools. As a child I remember my teacher suggesting that at dinner we should go around the table and have each family member say something that they are thankful for.
As studied by Janet Siskind, the American Thanksgiving celebration is actually a very detailed ritual that contains many symbols. Similar to other rituals, the holiday reinforces certain social structures and “…reaffirms values and assumptions about cultural and social unity, about identity and history, about inclusion and exclusion” (168). The Thanksgiving ritual is centered around a return home, as people traveled from their urban homes back to their rural home to meet with their larger family. As a result, “the household became the site of ritual performance…” (175). The goal of the Thanksgiving ritual was to reaffirm the family and renew traditional ties, especially as more people had started moving into the cities around the time that the holiday became popular in the United States (176).
Growing up a stone’s throw away from Plymouth rock, there were few things I knew more about than Thanksgiving. From Kindergarten onward I was inundated with mountains of information on the pilgrims that led me to have a strange affinity for them but especially their Thanksgiving celebration, which lasted even after I left Massachusetts for New Jersey. My love for Thanksgiving stemmed from a sense of civil pride that was instilled in me from the stories I was told about the holiday’s origins. From the familiar story, of the pilgrims and their friendship and celebration with their neighbors, the Wampanoag tribe, Thanksgiving took on a special meaning to me, and I trusted that it was the truth.
