The 1990’s was an unforgettable era for those that lived in it, and a life changing era even for those who weren’t born in it. Throughout the 90’s many significant things were created and happening in that time that helped to propel us forward to where we are today in the 2000’s. There were many important events that took place in the 1990’s, some were political and nation wide, while some were just simply things like technological advances and social advances. From different wars, famous trials, political scandals, and new inventions uprising, the 90’s were jammed packed with life changing events that helped to shape the world and society that we live in today. The prosecution had rock hard solid evidence that was sure to get a guilty sentence for Mr.Simpson; so they thought. The defense then fired back by saying that the police contaminated and tampered with the blood samples and DNA test and pleaded with the jury to simply ignore the “false” evidence. The Prosecution then tried one more thing, they brought a bloody glove they found at the crime scene that had been worn by Nicole’s killer, and asked OJ to try it on infront of the jury. The Rodney King Riot took place in response to a publicized story of police brutality that happened to a man named, Rodney King. Rodney King was a Dodgers Stadium usher, who had been arrested on charges of speeding, driving while under the influence of drugs, and for the failure to yield. The four police officers that responded to the incident, claimed that Mr.King was high on drugs, which was later proven untrue, and was trying to attack them, which then “forced” the police to beat him senseless, (SouthCentralHistory.com) they claimed self defense and said their actions did not go without a cause. A photographer at that time named George Holliday, was watching nearby the scene and decided to capture the horrifying and brutal attack of Mr.King on film. After the footage was leaked to the media for all to see, the public was absolutely outraged. Everyone thought that times were moving forward, and though racism still existed, they didn’t think it was this brutal.
