The book focused on a murder of an American family that occurred in Holcomb, Kansas 1959. Capote made a huge impact from that book because he used a true story, in which he claimed to have invented a new genre called Non-Fiction novel. Non-Fiction novel is a novel based on real life events that have occurred, and Truman loved writing about true events. The novel was so great that they even created a movie for it in October 5th, 1968. This novel was not one of his famous Non-Fictional novels but it had still hit the charts. Capote was known as a Non-Fictional Novel writer, but Capote claims this was a fictional writing so it was odd. This novel also brought some hate towards Capote because it was a stereotype towards the female community. The book was about a young lady who goes by the name of Holly Golightly and talks about her and her gold digger life. Holly was a young and poor woman who would do anything to get herself some money. She will often show her body for a price. She married this guy and basically used him for his money. She would ask and buy the most expensive things just because she wanted them. Capote dated a male ballet dancer that goes by the name of Jack Dunphy and they dated until Capotes death. The novel is based on Capotes life growing up, but with some little details different from his real life and different character names. Joel Knox was the main character and it talks about how he would move states a lot and how his parents didn’t love each other enough to stay together. Joel meets a pair of girl twins, Idabel and Florabel. Idabel was a tomboy and it wasn’t towards the end of the novel that Joel Knox realized he like Idabel more because she was a tomboy.
