1. In the short story "Rosendo's Tale" by Jorge Luis Borges he made a number of points. When he was young, he grew up in hard times surrounded by hard people. In those days it was kill or be killed and when he was challenged, he protected himself and ended the life of another man who was attempting to end his. He felt great sorrow at what he had done and came to the realization of how easy a life and death matter could shift.
