The biggest battle in WW2 on the naval side for the Americans was the Battle of Midway. The Battle of Midway was the turning point on the Pacific Theatre during World War 2. When the attack of Pearl Harbor happened, the USS Enterprise was out on the Pacific Ocean for 6 months. While they were out on sea, the Japanese naval force was getting closer to their goal to claim the island of Midway. The movie Midway shows the leading events into the Battle of Midway, by the director Roland Emmerich in 2019. Before their attack on Midway, the USS Enterprise had to catch up to the Hornet to see Lieutenant Doolittle leave for mainland Japan. Finally, all the information from the U.S. naval base command center helped the aircraft carrier destroy the Japanese fleet on the island of Midway. Although the movie Midway shows some inaccuracies, it shows the intense events from Pearl Harbor leading to the Battle of Midway. This is a strength because it shows the intense battle scenes from late December of 1941 to summer of 1942 on the aircraft carrier called Enterprise.

The movie Midway was set in the real events at the Battle of Midway during late December of 1941 to June of 1942. The attack on Pearl Harbor from the Japanese Fleet destroyed the majority of the naval battleships that were on the naval base. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise for the civilians and the navy. Some things the Japanese aircraft fleet didn’t destroy were the oil tanks, the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier. The Pearl Harbor attack was on December 7, 1941. As a result of the attack, Japan destroyed American naval battleships. One of the battleships was the USS Arizona. During World War II, the Empire of Japan was planning to attack Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Before World War Two in the United States, the United States was neutral. After the attack on Dec 7, 1941, the United States of America got involved on the Allied side during World War Two. Post the attack on Pearl Harbor the United States of America joined Britain, France, Russia to fight the Axis Powers. In the beginning of the movie, the viewers see the USS Enterprise out on sea 215 miles West of Pearl Harbor. While they were out on sea, the Japanese aircraft fleet destroyed the majority of the battleships that were stationed on Pearl Harbor. After they attacked Pearl Harbor ,they flew to mainland Pearl Harbor to destroy the naval base. In doing so, some military people got killed while walking on the naval base in Hawaii by the Japanese aircraft. The director Emmerich stayed true to the attack of Pearl Harbor because it was the biggest disaster by the American Naval Force in the United States of America. It was the biggest disaster because Americans didn’t know that this attack was going to happen. Lieutenant Edwin T. Layton did know this was going to happen but Washington D.C. didn't think it was true.
