The topic I chose to explore for this assignment is children of incarcerated parents and the effects it has on them and their education. I will begin by first defining the main terms of my topic, which are incarcerated and education. Incarcerated is describes as “to imprison or confine,” and education is defined as “the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life” (“Incarcerated”; “Education”). Question 3: The two research methods I feel are appropriate for researching this topic are surveying and e?. Surveying is a reasonable way to find out how serious the topic really is in our society and whether it should be address immediately. Basically, my thoughts are that the truth will be found in the number of children that are being effected by incarcerated children. The e? method I believe would give our society a greater knowledge of how serious the effects are on these children and how that relates to their education.
