1. Static assessments and dynamic assessments are different in the types of information that is gathered. Static assessment data clings to the offender: it changes very little, if any, over time and during incarceration, (Van Voorhis and Salisbury, 2013:114). Dynamic assessments are different. This information can, and often does, change during an offender’s incarceration (Van Voorhis and Salisbury, 2013:114). Dynamic assessments evaluate an offender concerning their “here and now” status.
