Many of these regulations would not be acceptable to employers and employees in today's labor market. Workers today have many freedoms and rights. The working day is much shorter, typically about 8 hours. Young children are not allowed to work and there are age requirements for certain jobs. Working in factories today is safer since there are laws in effect which require employers to look after their workforce.
