A. Information Technology is all the hardware and software tools a firm needs to accomplish its objectives. Examples are HARDWARE: computer machines and storage devices and SOFTWARE: Linux or Windows. While, Information Systems are connected machineries working together to collect, process, store and distribute information to support positive thinking in a group. Examples are Management Information Systems, Transaction Processing Systems, Decision Support Systems and Executive Information Systems.

Manufacturing and production is the first business process which deals with gathering the merchandise, checking the worth of the product and creating the bills of resources. Marketing and sales is the second business practice which deals with recognizing consumers, making customers conscious of the merchandise and the marketing of the product. Accounting and finance is the third business process which deals with repaying the creditors, generating monetary statements and managing financial records. INPUTS: Transactions Events; PROCESSING: Validation, Cataloguing, Record, Integration, Modernizing and Calculation, OUTPUT: Lists, Detail reports, Action reports and Summary reports. The outputs listed can be used to gather information on the products being sold and the products that are not being sold so they can make adjustments to suit the business and probably acquire new products to attract more customers.
Management Information Systems are used by middle managers to help safeguard the smooth running of the association in the short to medium term. INPUT: Internal Dealings, Internal Documents and Organized data; PROCESSING: Arranging, Integration and Summarizing; OUTPUTS: Summary News, Action Reports and Comprehensive Reports.
