We feel the pride that is being put into the preparation of the meal even though it is something as simple as toast, pretzel sticks, and popcorn. When Peppermint patty and the others arrive they sit to have the meal in which they say grace, this might have been a oversight for the gang but peppermint patty pointed it out which is what made everyone realize that they should. When Snoopy makes the plates and hands it out to everyone Peppermint patty is enraged with the fact that she is going to be eating toast, pretzels, and popcorn for her thanksgiving dinner.
