Introduction For two days, on the 14th and 15th of April, a field excursion to Hastings Point, New South Wales was conducted. At Hastings Point, topography, abiotic factors and organism distribution were measured and recorded, with the aim of drawing links between the abiotic factors of two ecosystems (rocky shore and sand dunes), the organisms which live in them, and the adaptations they have developed to cope with these conditions. Within these two ecosystems, multiple zones were identified and recorded, and this report also aims to identify the factors and organisms associated with each zone. Lastly, using data and observations from the past, predictions for the future of the rock pool ecosystem were made.
To get oxygen into its body it defuses into the worm; almost like the oxygen is being pulled into it. From there blood vessels grab the oxygen gas while being circulated by the pumping of its hearts. Soon after, the oxygen is used up and becomes carbon dioxide gas. The gas then defuses, or gets pushed, out of the worm; making room for more
Hannah Ton Mrs. Braun Honors American Literature 1 November 2015 SeaWorld Orca Breeding Should Not Be Continued When Dr. Heather Rally, a veterinarian who specializes with marine mammals, visited SeaWorld, she witnessed an orca with a severely collapsed fin and asked an “educational” guide why its fin was bent. The guide replied that it was a genetic trait just like curly or straight hair. However, Rally knows the truth, scientific evidence suggests that the high rate of dorsal fin collapse in captive orcas is due to conditions of captivity. These include spending an abnormally long time at the surface in direct sunlight and continuously swimming in tight circles.
Everything To know About The Large Mouth Bass! Imagine fishing on a dock, or on a deep-sea boat. Imagine all the different of fish you can see or catch while you’re there. Lets put a little more thought into it!
“A crustacean is an aquatic arthropod of the class Crustacea, which comprises crabs, shrimp, barnacles, lobsters, and freshwater crayfish. The point is that lobsters are basically giant sea insects…not nice to look at. They’ll eat some live shellfish, certain kinds of injured fish, and sometimes one another.” (Wallace
I think that SeaWorld is an amazing facility. I love the fact that they rescue sea creatures from their inevitable death. I love the fact that children love to come here. I love the fact that this place causes children to subconsciously learn something. I love to bring my kids here on the weekend to watch the shows that the trainers put on with the orcas.
The ocean is a giant body of water that is home to all types of fish. The ocean provides a rich environment for a plethora of animals from the tiniest of fish to the enormous whale. In the ocean, these creatures live and explore. Some of them must hunt other fish in order to survive, which means that others must try to avoid predators. Nature has provided all of these animals with a unique capability to survive.
Albert Einstein once assured, “If I were to remain silent, I’d be guilty of complicity” Never remain silent, never become guilty of something you have never done. In effect, this shows how you have to stand up taller when knocked down. Become yourself and feel the power you can demand. Joan Bauer’s realistic fiction novel, The Truth About Sharks, introduces us to such a character. The protagonist, Beth needed an outfit for a party later that evening.
I am going to tell you all about whale sharks’ adaptations. First, whale sharks diet is that they do not attack They do eat shrimp. Second, there habitat is in the warmer areas. Some have been spotted in the cooler warters. Last there habits they are solitary creatures.
SeaWorld is a billion dollar company based in the U.S. They specialise in the taking care of animals, such as killer whales, dolphins and sea lions. They have over 67,000 animals in their care and are rescuing more and more every day. Despite common belief, SeaWorld does not abuse the animals themselves. The workers of SeaWorld try their best every single day to look after every species of animal, and in return, are now being hassled and abused for it.
Marine organisms are animals, plants, and other living things that live in the ocean. A Marine biologist is a scientist who studies marine organisms and studies the bodies, behavior, and the history of marine organisms. They also study how marine organisms interact with each other and their environment. I have chosen to research about Marine biology because I would like to learn about sea life, the ocean, and its surrounding environment. To start off, a Marine biologist might study coral, crabs, fish, microscopic marine organisms, sea stars, seaweed, squid, or whales.
You take a huge breath in your scuba mask. You dive into the water you, open your eyes. It’s all bright and colorful. You see multiple animals. There is some that are ugly but you see the most beautiful fish.
In my opinion, I believe that marine mammals should not be held in captivity for many reasons. To start, they are taking away the animals from their natural habitat. Secondly, captivity causes both major and minor health problems. Another significant reason is that the poor marine creatures do not have enough space to swim resulting in severe boredom and causing them to do harm to themselves Captivity causes many health problems for the innocent marine mammals. There was an incident when Six of Marineland 's seals were blinded, or got serious eye problems because of the unclean water.
They are very unique in many different ways and a crucial support for human life. They play also a very important role in the marine life such as giving shelter and food for millions of species including fishes, crabs, or shrimps. They support 33% of marine fish species. They also have specific and certain conditions to be formed, and to survive. They are also known as the “rainforest of the oceans” because of its huge diversity.
The ocean… The sound of the waves applauding and hugging the shore. The internal sounds of the body out in the world’s biggest swimming pool. The echo of my sister’s laughter. The salty smell so strong that one can taste it dancing on ones taste buds.
