A virus replicates itself when it comes in contact with a host cell it injects its genetic material into the host, taking over the host's functions and replicating itself. A cell that is infected then helps the virus spread around affecting the person depending on the virus. Some host cells take a short amount of time to cause change to a person's body. However, Some viruses last a long time inside host cells for long periods of time and they don't cause any major changes in their host cells making it extremely difficult to know it exist in the body at all. The first person known to have hantavirus was a very young Navajo man who was extremely fit, he died very fast in the hospital of New Mexico. The virus was at first called Muerto Canyon Virus then later changed to Sin Nombre virus and latter called Hantavirus Pulmonary syndrome. HPS was not a new disease at all it was discovered in 1959 when a 38 year old man died with same symptoms as the Navajo man. After 1993 it was discovered that HPS can be spreaded by many different ways. The virus was extremely dangerous, however they took care of it extremely fast.
There are early and late symptoms of Hantavirus. The early symptoms of Hantavirus include fatigue, fever and muscle aches, especially in the large muscle groups thighs, hips, back, and sometimes shoulders.
