Trevor only competes in three timed events of steer roping, tie down roping and team roping. (‘The Official Membership Site of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association”). Almost 10,000 members compete in usually thirty or fewer of the 600 possible rodeos each year. Unlike other sporting events, the PRCA does not pay their contestants salaries. Members must buy a permit to compete professionally and pay entry fees at each rodeo to win money.
Around the dinner table and in many restaurants, beef is being consumed on a daily basis. Because of the year-round educational support within the communities, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo have been an honor to be a part of. Being apart of the HLSR has made me realize that I can achieve something so much bigger than myself. To me, the HLSR means learning about not only about where our food comes from, but about your community and surroundings. The HLSR is an annual event that pulls in various people from the community, so everyone has a chance to learn about agriculture. Also, I love how this organization educates the youth by providing several opportunities to learn about our environment at the livestock show.
Many people who participate in the rodeo do so because of the community that is formed. This is evident in the way people come together to support one another and to celebrate their shared history and

Literature Review (Keep this Subtitle) The group that is being researched are Denver Broncos fans. A widely used quote for Denver Broncos fans was one used initially by star quarterback Russel Wilson saying, “Broncos country, let's ride.” This quote can be found plastered on several fan sites and even the official Broncos website. This quote starts fairly simple, obviously it's Denver Colorado, so that's where the term broncos country stems from and lets ride is obviously referring to riding an actual bronco horse.
For some people it's just fun. But for me It's a lifestyle. People ask what is it? It's the sport rodeo. For those who don't known what rodeo is, rodeo is an exhibition or contest in which cowboys show their skill at riding broncs, roping calves and other activities.

Wardens are the primary law enforcement for State Parks and Fish and Wildlife areas” (Swance). Game wardens are people who are employed to supervise hunters and game. This career is very important so entire species of animals are not wiped out, by careless people poaching and killing way too many animals.
Most people my age have a passion for playing sports, but my passion in life is a little different than most. I grew up living on a farm and being around cattle ever since I could walk has been apart of my life, which brought me to one of the reasons why I have a passion for showing cattle. People often wonder why I love showing cattle so much and what the point of it is, but there are so many reasons why I have grown the love for it. There is just something special about the feeling of your heart racing when you walk into the show ring or the handshake from the judge telling you that all your hard work has payed off. In the 13th century, Spanish settlers brought long horned Iberian cattle to the Antilles Islands. These cattle are now known as Texas longhorns. As the settlers moved north along the coasts they took their cattle with them. By the early 1700’s longhorn cattle populated both east and west coast as well as Texas. (Casey, Mike)
This summer was my first time getting to compete in high school rodeo. The reason I like rodeo is because you meet a lot of new friends who share your interests, getting to be with my favorite animal, competing, and getting to spend time with close friends and family. My favorite event is poles and barrels are my least favorite. The poles are a fun event because I have a really fast horse name Kuzco, and he’s really good at
“Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyways.” – John Wayne. Riding horses can always be a terrifying or calm moment, depending on the horse you ride. I have had many scary moments riding horse, one being breaking my wrist. There is nothing more enjoyable than rising early, saddling your horse, and watching the sun rise.

The exhilarating sport is a jaw dropping sport with riders that are a different breed of athlete. A sport full of physically fit riders. This is the overlooked sport of motocross.
