If you have ever visited Clearwater, Florida you would see multiple people roaming the streets in what seems like a uniform eagerly distributing flyers. The flyers are handed out to recruit members for The Church of Scientology. In order to get you interested, the flyers say things such as “joining the church of Scientology can raise your I.Q to over one-hundred and thirty five, give you a creative imagination, and radiant health.” It sounds enticing, however, it is all a ploy to brainwash you into believing that the church can change your life for the better. The purpose of this paper is to inform audiences about The Church of Scientology, an abusive cult organization created to destroy reputations of those who do not agree with the ideas of the church which is all based on lies.

"Scientology is both immoral and socially obnoxious. It is corrupt, sinister and dangerous. It is corrupt because it is based on lies and deceit" (Justice Latey, ruling in the High Court of London). Ever since the church was created it has been telling lies. The Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, was not a nuclear physicist or even a graduate of a legitimate university, lying about this and his war record. In reality he was a bigamist, a drug abuser, and a criminal (Wacher). Hubbard was master of only one thing, the art of deception.
When you enter the church and are interested in becoming a part of it, everyone watches a video of the old L. Ron Hubbard with an open shirt, ascot and the type of smile that suggests he is hiding gum in back of his mouth, portraying a laid back lifestyle through scientology (Cooper). The church is constantly being sued for fraud, extortion, capital flight, coercion, illegally practicing medicine and taking advantage of mentally incapacitated people but usually can not be brought down because of how large the cooperation is and due to religious
