Film directors are hired to oversee the production of movies and make sure all involved are doing what they’re supposed to. They usually have the final say in most decisions involving the movie including financial decisions. Many would say that the director is the author of the film. There are many film schools around the world that help aspiring film directors to learn the ways of film directing. The salary of a film director varies based on how successful their previous works were. Film school is not seen as a necessity by most people because directors are hired by how successful they are instead of their education. Before filming is started, directors and others give auditions to find the actors that will be hired for the film. During filming, directors tell the actors what to do and how they should do it. They also keep an eye out for lighting issues, audio issues, and any other problems that may arise. The film director also helps in post-production which occurs after filming. They, along with other people, help to choose which scenes will be used in the movie as well as other things. While it’s the screenwriter’s job to write the script, film directors also help to revise the script and possibly change things in the script. Many film directors are also screenwriters, which give them more freedom when it comes to shaping the movie how they want it. Many say that having people skills is crucial as a film director. You must be able to work well with the actors to get them to do what you want them to. You must be able to work with the producers and make sure they’re happy with how the movie is turning
