For example, you could run a mile everyday or replace chips in your meal with an apple. There are many symptoms of type two diabetes: being tied, losing weight, blurry vision, and sometimes a wound that will not heal. If someone has these symptoms, they should contact their doctor immediately.
I will never forget the day my life was changed forever; the day I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In the matter of 24 hours, I was taught how to calculate carbohydrates, check my blood sugar, and give myself insulin shots. Among learning how to act as my own pancreas, I was told I could do anything I could have before my diagnoses. I took this statement to heart and never let diabetes stop me from reaching my goals.

Does this sound familiar? It is afternoon and like clockwork, your sugar craving hits. You know you shouldn 't give in to your craving but the intensity of the craving is so extreme you just don 't have enough willpower to prevent yourself from satisfying it. You grab whatever is near, i.e. cookies from the vending machine, chocolates on your assistant 's desk, or the leftover ice cream in the freezer from the night before. If there is nothing around and easy to grab, you make a special trip to the food store to buy a sweet, tasty treat.
Type 2 diabetes is usually caused by unhealthy physical activity habits or genetics, as those who are not physically active, overweight, or have family members with diabetes are at a high risk for developing type 2 at some point in their lives. Having excessive weight, especially around the stomach, can sometimes cause the insulin being produced by the pancreas to not be used as effectively as it could be. Gestational diabetes sometimes develops during pregnancy, and though it is unknown exactly why it develops, many scientists believe it could be due to hormonal changes. The extra weight gained during pregnancy also could be a factor.
To be honest, I did not know that the diabetes disease had different types and the seriousness of them. I remember that in middle school one of my classmates was diagnost with diabetes and several times during class the teacher had to give her an injection. This was a little scary to see my classmate almost passing out and the commotion of the teacher giving the shot. I remember being curious about the diabetes disease because. Just like Dan, I could not understand why my classmate being the same age as me and participated in all the same physical activities with no visual issues was diagnosed with diabetes.
