What would one do if they were stranded on an island with all boys to fend and survive for themselves? A group of boys involved in a plane crash landed on a empty island. Ralph and Piggy are the first characters that are presented in the story. Finding a conch near the beach, the two boys try to summon the others to reach the beach. When they realized that there are no adults with them on the island, it leaves them to deciding what to do to survive. They had made a rule that the conch is represented as a ability to communicate with everyone on the island. While hunting, a ship passed by the island and there was no smoke signal to help them depart from the island. This resulted in Ralph and others to be mad at Jack because he thought that hunting was more important than the fire. Jack was mad at the attitude Piggy gave him that he “struck his fist into Piggys stomach.”(71). Jack craved for them to understand why it was so important for him to get meat but no one understood him. When he realized that punching Piggy led to none of the boys believing him he apologized as a verbal trick to make them admire him.
