The American Revolution happened to be a very expensive war for America. In order to supply for her military, congress found it necessary to accept loans from France. Following the Revolutionary War, America faced a debt of roughly $80 million to both foreign nations and American citizens. This debt damaged the economy by devaluing money issued by the Continental Congress. Wanting to find quick solutions to these timorous problems as quickly as possible, George Washington granted Alexander Hamilton the task of resolving the issues by writing policies regarding America’s interaction with foreign nations and finance management.
The second hypothesis is that Afrocentric cultural values would positively linked to cigarette, marijuana, and alcohol use of abstinence. In simple terms, if a low-income African American adolescent is more aware or identifies their Afrocentric cultural values, than there is an increase in their abstinence from marijuana, cigarettes, and alcohol. In today’s society, substance abuse is a serious issue that has many explanations as to why it occurs. Peer pressure, boredom, rebellion, etc., are all common examples of why a person uses drugs and alcohol but there is more depth to it. Individuals will often get blamed or judged on the actions they perform and do not usually think of society itself as a factor. There are relatively stable patterns of social relations that contribute to the values and decisions of humans. Three levels of social structures that surround and permeate us are macrostructures, microstructures, and patriarchy.

The social norm I decided to violate is to be nice to my sister. Most of the time we just argue or we will not even talk to each other because we are so busy doing our own thing. This norm acts as a mechanism for social control because most people think that siblings never get along and that if you can not control how the siblings act towards one another people just assume they do not get along. I had done a few things that day to be kind to my sister like fix a game on the computer for her and buy her dinner. For people that would not know us as siblings they would not think anything of it, but for instance for someone that knows us like our mom she would know something was up.

One of the biggest issues in the United States is the abuse and distribution of drugs, especially within our youths (Cox, p. 58). Thousands of juveniles are exposed to drugs (e.g., cigarettes, marijuana, alcohol) on a daily basis whether it is at school, on the streets, or at home. It is evident that media convinces audiences that there is a correct viewpoint of different ideas and it can be difficult for viewers to look past social constructions of the media.
