In MacBeth by William Shakespeare, MacBeth deals with many conflicts, internal and external. MacBeth gets promoted because a treacherous rebel named MacDonald is killed in action. MacBeth is courted by three witches that hail him as the new king, yet he does not have that title. His internal conflict is figuring what to do about King Duncan and what’s best for the kingdom. His external conflict is his wife, Lady MacBeth, pressuring him to kill King Duncan. MacBeth denies his wife and chooses not to kill King Duncan. She attacks his manhood and calls him a coward.
