“ Pulling someone down will never help you reach the top”. This quote plays a massive roll in the play Macbeth.Throughout this play numerous characters reveal their true colors. This play is filled with ambitious and ruthless characters that are also bullies. In “ The Tragedy of Macbeth” Lady Macbeth is more of a bully than anyone. She was extremely ambitious. Lady MacBeth would do anything to reach the top and become queen. Another bully in the play was Macbeth; although he wasn't the mastermind of every plan. everything he still played a big part. Lady Macbeth manipulates her husband multiple times. She is willing to pull everyone down, even her husband, in order for her to become queen. She comes up with the idea of killing King Duncan. She asks her husband Macbeth to do the honor of killing Duncan but he hesitated at first. Lady Macbeth repeatedly questions his manhood. He feels that he must commit the crime to prove himself. She is this type of bully because she lacks empathy for others and isn’t not a genuine person.Whenever she does something faulty, Lady Macbeth shows no remorse and doesn't think twice about the consequences.She persistently taunts her husband for his lack of courage, even though she knows of his bloody deeds on the battlefield.On the other hand Macbeth is a imitative bully because he is influenced by his surroundings.Without his wife pushing him to commit the crime I doubt that he would have ever committed it.
