There are only a few conditions harsh enough to convince someone to attempt to change their fate and kill someone trusted and loved. The loved and successful King Duncan reined in Scotland where seemingly, no one challenged his role as king. During a time of accusing people of being witches and wars fought to a bloody end, manipulation and change of fate may not seem a prominent topic. Shakespeare, a play writer from England who wanted to impress the king, wrote Macbeth-a play dealing with a once-kind murderous psychopath who killed the beloved king after a sequence of events led him to change his fate. Through the use of major symbols and themes, Shakespeare successfully communicates the impact of manipulation- a major theme in the play. Multiple people have manipulated Macbeth throughout the course of this play, all of which convinced him to murder Duncan, as well as Macduff’s family and Banquo. Lady Macbeth is the one who possesses the power to manipulate Macbeth. She even claims his nature, “...is too full o’ th’ milk of human kindness” (Shakespeare I.iiiii.17) to kill anyone.
