In the story "Loser", by Aimee Bender, the main conflict was apparent. The character's conflict was internal and external. The internal conflict was the main character's feeling of being an outcaste and lonely. This was reflected in his thoughts at the end of the story. He was still trying to be next to his father and mother. For instance, when the writer mentioned his thought, " he thought he could hear waves hitting" Additionally, the external conflict of this story was about people's view of the main character which was one of the factor's that caused the internal conflict.
