In The Breakfast Club a criminal, a princess, a basket case, an athlete, and a brain all have Saturday detention. Each of the teenagers come from different backgrounds. They all have their own issues and problems that they never confront or deal with. For each person there is a therapy that would probably work best for them. John Bender “the criminal” is your basic bad boy. He's not a bully, but more of a delinquent. He uses sarcasm and crude jokes to channel his aggression. He has a rough life at home and insinuates that he is abused by his father. He jokes around and acts wild to deal with the suffering he goes through at home. This causes the others around him to have a false perception of him. Interpersonal Therapy would be best for him. The techniques used in that specific therapy help others to see people as they are so that we can relate better to them. …show more content…

His parents spoil her and give her no disipline. The other students think she thinks she's better than everyone else, but that isn't the case. Since her parents only use her to get back at each other, she likes the security in following her clique. At home her parents don't pay any mind to her, but at school, since she's popular, she gets attention. The other kids think she's stuck up, but she's just as insecure as the rest of them.
