He wiped off the slick sweat on the back of his neck, knowing it was his time to shine. Centennial Olympic Park surrounded him. The Bank of America Plaza towered to the East. He rubbed the back of his blood stained feet, shook off the blister pain, shoved his polished trainers on his feet, picked up his stick, and started for the other side of the field. He was in the big leagues now.

Hi, I’m Eugene Skinner, and I was part of the Lafayette Escadrille during World War I, which was a squadron of primarily American fighter pilots who fought for France before the United States entered the war. Although I lived in France at the time, my roots were dug in the US, and I came over seas because my father told me that all races were treated equally there, and for the most part, that was true. However, when I first moved to France, the only job I could find was one as a carnival target, which sufficed until I was noticed for my boxing talent. Just before the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, I moved to Paris in hopes of making it big, and I did: I ranked number four in the country before I enlisted. But why would I end something so wonderful, you ask?
When the AAA Saline baseball team found out we were going to Cooperstown we were so excited. But it cost $2,000 a person so we had to do a whole bunch of fundraiser. . We had a whole bunch on our plate because we had to do fundraisers and we had to practice a lot to be ready. The ride up there was really boring because it was 10 hours
“Touchdown Lafayette!” This was the start to my high school career and we were losing in the first half of the game. It took them forever to score so I believed that the defense could go hard and stop them just once. We knew if we lost it would be some smack going on social media so someone had to step up.
I went to Jay Peak as my second time. I remember about my first time I went there when I was in Middle school. Also it was my first year in United State. I was a quiet student in Middle school so I don’t talk the whole time I was on the bus even when I get there. But yesterday I talked to people who were from different program.
I´ve just got out of the ferry so that I can cross the river and John is acting happy, maybe because the Confederates haven´t caught us yet. I´m glad that I crossed the river too but maybe one day we might be caught. Willie and his friends are taking John and me over Locust Hill, to what he says, the Garretts farm. The Garretts turned out to be kind and let John stay at there house for the night while I join the soldiers to a nearby town.
10 Block Story As the Christmas season is getting closer, the anxiety of what you’re getting for presents is growing bigger. I mean, who doesn’t want to know what they’re getting. The element of surprise is okay, but sometimes you just want to know what you’re getting! So, you can’t blame me when I saw my sister, who, I pretty much know got me for, “Secret Santa,” which wasn’t very secret. I wanted to follow her to see what she got me, so I did.
Being a celebrity might come with being depicted by the pubic in positive or negative ways. Box Brown’s graphic memoir of “Andre the Giant” shows us how one celebrity can make way for another, through the negative ways he is portrayed by the media. Brown demonstrates this to his readers through his illustrations, his word choice and the way acting is done. This directly relates with the concept of: “The TV personality” from Sean Redmond’s book: “celebrity and the media”, because the author’s description of Andre makes him seem as the enemy of this story. Today, most characters that are shown on TV every day have some sort of personality, for some it is more apparent than for others.
I feel grateful for the guidance and friendship that my advisors at Park have given me. While there are many things I hope my next advisor learns about me, and there are two important things I would like my Dana Hall advisor to know about me. Over the years, I have grown passionates for many different hobbies. I have always had a passion for arts and craft and I started doing more in second grade After a long day at school, I began to attend crocheting lessons as something fun and relaxing.

When I was younger, one of the first things people would ask me when we met was “Where are you from?” In response, I always said, “McKeesport”, but felt contempt every time that word left my mouth because I knew my hometown was a cesspool of poverty and demoralization. Even though I still know McKeesport is a bad place to live, the feeling attached to my response to inquiries about my hometown has changed. Instead of contempt, I feel determined to enact a citywide metamorphosis. Growing up, there were two contrasts in my life.
For my Diverse Field Experience this semester, I spent fifteen hours at the Mclean County Juvenile Detention Center. This particular center was occupied by about 8-14 juveniles at a time, all depending on court dates and occupancy of other nearby detention centers. This center usually had 3 staff members working the shift every time I went, which was seven to nine on weekday afternoons. I was intrigued to go to at this time because I thought it would be the time of the day were the juveniles had no school work or other obligations to do while I was there. I wanted to see what they liked to do in the free time before bed, the only stipulation being mandatory snack time at eight pm.
